So Fresh and So Clean!

So Fresh and So Clean!

So Fresh and So Clean!

With the warmer weather on the horizon, fresh and clean scents have been on our mind.

Sunshine and heat brings the desire to wear something that’s not too heavy and makes you feel fresh when your body starts to warm up.

We’ve discussed before how warmth makes a fragrance project more, and no matter how light your scent is, it will continue to linger and project throughout the day when heat is involved.

I have had personal experiences where I could still smell my body mists on me at the end of the day during the Summertime, even though that particular variation is supposed to fade after less than an hour.

The fresh and clean scents we’ll be talking about are simple scents, as in they’re straight up fresh and clean without too much going on.

Cotton Flower from Giardino Benessere - This scent is essentially described by its name. It’s Cottony fresh with a floral element. Rose, Gardenia, and Peony blend with Bergamot and Clove, and hints of Tonka Bean and Oak to create a scent that almost makes you think you’re wearing something that has been freshly washed and dried on a clothes line in a field of flowers on a sunny summer day.

Osmanthus from Ormonde Jayne - This scent is super refreshing and clean. It kind of has an aroma of your favorite shower gel. Osmanthus Absolute and Water Lily are brightened with juicy Pomelo, and given a hint of depth from Cedarwood and Musk. It stays light and bright, and has a gentle elegance to it.

Erolfa from Creed - This scent combines Citruses, Melon, Basil, Pepper, Ginger, Cedarwood, Moss, and Musk to recreate memories of the Creed family sailing around the Mediterranean. It really does conjure images of sea mist brushing your face as you sail around some coastal town, the wind in your hair and the heat of the sun on your skin.

Royal Water from Creed - This scent is clean and vibrant with a Peppermint note standing out amongst of blend of citruses, Verbena, Basil, Pepper, and Tonkin Musk. The combination of Verbena and Peppermint with the citruses almost smells like Juniper, giving this scent a very gentle soapy, yet crisp gin cocktail aroma. It feels bright, clean, and summery.

Calandre from Paco Rabanne - This scent was one of the original metallic fragrances that was created in the late 60’s. It has a little bit more of a musky vibe to it, blending flowers with Bergamot and resinous Galbanum, and touches of Oakmoss, Musk, and Vetiver. It’s the type of Musk scent that borders on a skin scent….your skin but better. It stays soft and light in its Eau de Toilette format.

Fidji from Guy LaRoche - This is a great scent for those who love some spice in their fragrance, but still want something super light for the Spring and Summer. Resinous Galbanum and a blend of Spices are mellowed with Aldehydes and a floral bouquet, where Jasmine stands out, but in a whisper of its normally potent self. Another Resin, Balsam, rounds things out in the base, adding warmth when paired with Sandalwood, Patchouli, and Musk. It’s a super mellow, resinous and spicy scent inspired by the Pacific Islands.

L’Eau d’Issey Pour Femme from Issey Miyake - Is a watery aquatic scent with a Lotus Accord standing out amongst a White Floral Bouquet. Hints of Sandalwood and Musk add just the right amount of depth. On the skin, it will smell like you’ve been swimming in a cool lagoon all day and the sun has dried the aromas of the water and earth on you.

L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme from Issey Miyake - This scent is a watery aquatic scent with a distinctly masculine warmth. Water Lily adds an aquatic sweetness to a blend of Citruses while Sandalwood, Vetiver, and Amber add a smooth and gentle woodiness. On the skin, it smells like a man who has been swimming in the ocean all day. He’s sat out in the sun to dry, and the aromas of the ocean water and the sweat of his sun-kissed skin creates something intoxicating.

While these scents keep things simple, there are plenty of other types of fresh and clean scents with a little more going on. You can discover them at all Parfumerie Nasreen in store and online.
