More Fragrance Inspirations

We’ve gone over a few fragrances inspirations before, and we’ll be going over a few more today.

Fragrance inspirations are stories that inspired a fragrance and its trajectory as it was being made. Sometimes it’s a story from mythology, a real location, the aura of a time and place, a plant or flower and its origins, and other times it can be a story simply created in the mind before or after a fragrance’s creation.

Fragrances that touch our souls can create stories of our own as well.

I have a fragrance that was created by a local Seattle perfumer, called Lonely Rose. It’s a boozy, fruity, Rose fragrance. It created an image in my mind of being in an apple orchard where random Rose bushes were growing under the trees here and there. A hint of Rum permeates the air from somewhere nearby….maybe I just came from a distillery and the taste is still on my breath and in my nose. There is a warmth in the air and I feel safe and cozy.

These are a few more fragrances that you can find at Parfumerie Nasreen with fun and interesting inspirations.

Arethusa from Tiziana Terenzi - This scent tells the story of a nymph named Arethusa. A river God fell in love with her and pursued her relentlessly. In an effort to escape his advances, she went to the Goddess Artemis for help, and was eventually transformed into a stream. The scent is gentle and soothing with a sweet aquatic essence.

Opus XIV Royal Tobacco from Amouage - This scent was inspired by a person known as ‘El Lector’ or ‘The Reader’. This was a person who would go into the Cigar factories in Cuba, and read to the workers so that they would stay entertained, educated, and up-to-date on the news. The fragrance has the spicy and earthy aroma of Cigars, and smells like what you might imagine the intensity of the inside of a Cigar factory to smell like.

Kashmir from Ormonde Jayne - This scent was inspired by the Valley of Kashmir in India. It is surrounded by ranges of the Himalayan mountains. The scent has an aroma that is refreshingly aromatic, like crisp, clean, snowy mountain air, grassy fields with flowers, and the essence of a cool, clean breeze. It’s dry down has an earthy, floral, musky vibe.

Bal A Versailles from Jean Desprez - This scent was inspired by the Chateau de Versailles, where opulent balls and eventually court sessions were held during the 17th century. The scent has a vintage vibe with spices and a powdery essence. You can imagine powdered wigs, billowing dresses, an orchestra, and flowing champagne.

We love sharing these inspirations with you and have many more to share later.

We would love to hear some of your favorite fragrance stories or inspirations.
